One of its most recognized features was to generate human-like responses, which paved the way for future developments in chatbots and conversational agents.

    2. Year 1972

    In 1972, Japan unveiled WABOT-1, which was the first intelligent humanoid robot. It was equipped with sensors for vision, touch, and hearing, enabling it to perceive and interact with the environment.

    The First AI Winter (1974-1980)

    The first AI winter, spanning from 1974-1980, was a period of reduced funding, waning interest, and diminished expectations in the field of Artificial Intelligence. AI research was in such chaos that it would not receive funding for the upcoming many years.

    1997 was a historic year in the field of AI, as it was during this time that a computer defeated a world chess champion in a classic match format for the first time ever. The match was set between IBM’s Deep Blue and the reigning world chess champion, Gary Kasparov.
