There are a huge number of tools and platforms for data engineers. It's this enormous selection that makes it difficult for newcomers to filter out the really important tools.
In the course of the Data Engineer Coaching I was able to gain important experience in this regard and would like to tell you the most important tools on this basis today! During the coaching sessions I saw that a lot of tools keep coming up all the time: Kafka, Spark and AWS.
Great demand for AWS
Especially AWS is very, very strong. There is a great need for AWS- AWS stuff, AWS knowledge, AWS skills.
How do I determine that?
One part of the Data Engineer Guide is the research for job advertisements. And here I have noticed with the participants that AWS in particular is repeatedly demanded by employers.
Specialize on what is demanded!
So if you want to specialize in tools that are also in high demand, then you are definitely not doing anything wrong with Kafka, Spark and AWS.
These are currently three of the most important things I see all the time!
